DAVID HURN
Singer and songwriter from East London. Debut single Sick Of Hate was released in 1999 on Day Release records, followed by live performances in London, Berlin, and USA.
Signed to Fire Records in 2001 and opened shows for, amongst others, Mark
Eitzel, British Sea Power and Tim Bowness.
Debut album He Was A Woman was released in 2002, swiftly followed by the
critically acclaimed No Love E.P.
In 2004 David performed at SXSW festival in Texas, recorded a number of
sessions for BBC Radio, and composed music for a series of short experimental
films.
A ltd edition single I'm Spending Christmas With Jesus This Year was released
at the close of 2005 (and described by the Western Mail as 'Probably the most
tragic Xmas song ever produced').
David's second full length album, The Beautiful Trustful Future was released
in March 2008 on Fire Records, and features the single The Man Who Stayed In
Bed Forever.
Also contributed music to Chamber Music, a tribute album to James Joyce
(featuring Sonic Youth, Ed Harcourt, Magnetic Fields, Mercury Rev, and many
others). This was released on Fire Records in June 2008.
In February 2010 a collection of DH instrumental works titled Black Flowers (4 track instrumental recordings 97-98) was released on the Trace Recordings label.
Currently recording his third and fourth albums of songs, as well as working
closely with longtime friend and collaborator James O'Sullivan and their
improvising myth Four Seasons Television.
